In my experiment i want to figure out what type of water would heat up the fastest using the sun or heat lamp substitute. I believe that if i crossed the thermometers and put them in the wrong water i would have to redo my whole experiment. I also believe that i could put the wrong amount of water in each glass making me have to redo my project. Another thing i believe is that the water could not be heated right if the heat lamp substitute is placed the wrong way.

1. get clear glasses from home and put 3/4 of the glasses filled with water.
2. i will put regular water in one glass, the amount of salt in the ocean that would fit 3/4 of a cup, one glass will have more salt then the ocean glass and another will have less salt then the glass with ocean water.
3. put the glasses of water and salt water under 2 large heat lamps.

5. when gotten the data i will record it and start making my poster and get ready for science fair.

In my Science Fair Experiment i graphed which type of water heats up faster by the sun (or heating lap substitute.). I used regular water, sea water, doubled sea water, and half of sea water. I wanted to find out which type of water heats up faster using a type of light.I found out that the more salt you have, the faster the water will rise. In my experiment i found out that the doubled sea waters temperature heats up faster then any other water i tested. So the results for my experiment are that the doubled sea water heated up the fastest, the regular sea water heated up second fastest, half of sea water heated up third fastest, and the regular water heated up the slowest.
Conclusion
My hypothesis was, the regular water would heat up faster then any other water type. I reject my hypothesis because it turns out that the doubled sea water heats up the fastest. My hypothesis was totally wrong. I thought the regular water would heat up the fastest but it was the slowest. So from the data i received i now know that my hypothesis was wrong and I reject it.

I used a bucket to hold four 600ml glasses filled with the different types of water i have made(regular water, sea water, doubled sea water, and half seawater). For heating the water i used heat lamp substitute for the sun due to weather issues To record data i used a lab quest connected to four thermometers to graph and record data. It took me three days to get three different trials of data.

This experiment benefits Science because if anyone wants to do a project or experiment about water or water temperature, that person could look at this wiki and see which type of water would benefit that persons project or experiment in anyway possible(anyway that can help.).

Abstract

I used a Lab Quest connected to four thermometers to record the data. After getting the data for one trial i repeated the experiment two more times. After I have all the data I upload the data onto a computer, to logger lite 1.4. This application allows me to upload my data and it makes a graph automatically. After I have all my data I now can see if i have to reject my hypothesis or not. When all my data is on the computer and on my wiki i now print all things needed on my poster and then I can finish the project.
